Alternatives to Siberian Larch for cladding, fencing and decking.

American Douglas Fir with similar durability and looks makes a more than worthy alternative to Siberian Larch. American Douglas fir has few knots and is considered very hard for a “soft” wood. Its European cousin British Douglas fir is also a hard “soft” wood with more knots and a similar colour.

Is Co2 Douglas Fir Complaint and Certified?

Our Co2 American Douglas Fir (Imported) is PEFC complaint, and 85/12 grade (please see about Co2 Douglas Fir).

Our British Douglas Fir is FSC certified. N.B British Douglas Fir is knottier than American Douglas Fir.

Both can be left to naturally age or treated with a good quality timber treatment (please see our accessories page) if you wish to enhance the colour.
